Im a premiere guy, and for this new project Im working on I opted to use finalcut, because I figured I needed to learn sooner or later. But Im having trouble with adding lots of music tracks ... evertime I insert a background song, or move one around in the timeline, everything needs to be rendered again. In premiere nothing needed to be rendered after adding audio tracks. Is there no way to change this?

With Final Cut to avoid rendering you need to have your Sequence settins match your capture/file import settings. You'll need to convert all your audio tracks to a 48khz AIF or whatever your set-up is.

Hey Machead - did you have any luck finding a pdf of the Final Cut Express manual?

Cheers.

Yeah no trouble. Its a 3 mg file, though and some e-mail accounts (like Hotmail) don't like big files along with firewalls.

Great - thanks very much. 3mb should be okay - I've sent you a 'private message' ( as it's called) to your inbox on this website which has my email in it. Thanks again!

PS Have you seen this website: http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage...age_index.html
It's got some pretty handy Final Cut tips on it.
